travelogue: 2 chairs and a brick
isla de las mujeres, q roo, mx

returning from my favorite
'cafe economica' in the evenings,
i repeatedly passed three workers enjoying
evening repasts and libations, quietly laughing,
poised gracefully on chairs missing legs and
cross struts, balanced against the cemetary wall.

i didnt want to disturb the local people enjoying
their evening ritual. i thought the arrangement
was perfectly balanced 'in situ', so i rose at dawn
and recorded the stretch of wall, the two chairs,
and the brick in perfect harmony accented
with a red cup ... waiting like a still life .
